
Janel C. Laughlin is the Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer at Labaton Keller Sucharow. She leads all marketing, client development, and client services efforts for the Firm. Janel is responsible for setting the direction of the Firm’s marketing and client development efforts and provides leadership and strategic direction for the Firm’s client relations, marketing and brand strategy, digital technology, and client engagement. She Co-Chairs the Firm’s Technology Committee and is a member of the Firm’s Client Development and Case Evaluation Groups, the Women's Initiative, and the Artificial Intelligence Committee.
Janel collaborates with the Firm’s Executive Committee to establish the Firm’s strategic priorities, with a focus on revenue growth and delivering exceptional client services. She oversees a multidisciplinary team spanning marketing and communications, client services, financial analytics, and digital technology.
She brings extensive experience in U.S. and cross-border media relations and maintains strong relationships across leading print, digital, and broadcast outlets. Under her leadership, the Firm has helped clients shape messaging, navigate media interviews, and produce press materials that support both legal strategies and public positioning.
Janel was named a finalist by Law.com’s Women, Influence, & Power in Law Awards in the “Innovative Leadership – External Innovation” category, recognizing her ability to blend creativity with strategic insight in a rapidly evolving legal landscape.
Prior to joining Labaton Keller Sucharow, Janel was the Global Director of Marketing and Business Development at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
Janel is a member of the Legal Marketing Association, International Legal Technology Association, and the Chief Marketing Officer Council. Deeply committed to civic and philanthropic work, she serves on the leadership council supporting therapy-dog visitation and patient- and family-focused programs at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is a board member of the Christopher J. Keller Memorial Foundation, The Bowery Mission, and the SMU Alumni Association, and extends her commitment to cultural institutions as a committee member at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
Janel graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance and a Bachelor of Art in Art History.
