Partner Michael P. Canty has been named a finalist for Litigator of the Year by The American Lawyer’s prestigious 2026 Industry Awards. Highlighting the legal industry’s most impactful and important work of the past year, “recipients of these awards often set benchmarks for others to follow and contribute significantly to the advancement of the legal profession in the United States.”
This honor recognizes Michael’s outstanding accomplishments as a litigator and impact on the plaintiffs’ bar. As Co-Chair of the Consumer Protection and Data Privacy Practice and a Securities Team Leader, he has achieved some of the most significant recent victories in securities and data privacy litigation. Most notably, Michael was a leader of the trial team that secured the historic, unanimous jury verdict against Meta Platforms Inc. in Frasco v. Flo Health. Among his many other achievements in the past year, Michael secured a $210 million settlement in a case against Estée Lauder (pending final court approval), a $210 million settlement in a case against Fidelity National Information Services (pending final court approval), and a $100 million settlement in a case against PG&E.
The winners will be announced at The American Lawyer 2026 Industry Awards ceremony on November 12, 2026, in New York City.
