NEW YORK (November 16, 2015) – Labaton Sucharow LLP is pleased to announce that partner Thomas A. Dubbs was again selected by Law360 as an MVP in the Class Action category. He was previously named an MVP in 2012.
This year, after reviewing more than 850 submissions across 31 practice areas, Law360 featured the five “legal aces” in each category with the biggest wins and who made the most significant achievements and contributions to their practice groups from October 1, 2014 – October 1, 2015.
Dubbs' profile highlights his noteworthy work over the past year, which included a $170 million settlement with Fannie Mae, a $30 million settlement with Celestica, and the progress made in the litigation against Facebook and Goldman Sachs.
Regarding the Fannie Mae case, Dubbs shared some insights with Law360: “In light of the fact that these two companies were kissing cousins as it were, we had to distinguish that case in order to be able to go to the negotiating table with Fannie Mae. In doing that, what we had to do was devise from scratch a credible theory of how our damages claim was different than the damage claim alleged in the Freddie Mac case.”
