Labaton Sucharow is excited to announce that Christopher Keller, who was elevated to the role of Co-Chairman in December 2017, has been named Chairman. Lawrence Sucharow, who has served as Managing Partner/Chairman or Co-Chairman for more than 20 years, will assume the role of Chairman Emeritus.

Chris Keller joined Labaton Sucharow in 2000. In addition to serving as Co-Chair, he has led the Case Development Group since 2003, and served as a member of the Executive Committee. He has been recognized for his forward-thinking approach in such publications as The Legal 500, which noted “he has his pulse on the trends.”

During his more than 40 years at the Firm, Larry Sucharow has become one of the most respected and lauded attorneys in the nation. He has been recognized as a Senior Statesman by Chambers USA, one of the 10 Most Admired Securities Attorneys by Law360, and a Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation. Under his leadership, first as Managing Partner and then as Chairman, the Firm has gone through many significant changes, including establishing a new client base of institutional investors after the passage of the PSLRA, and transitioning from a billable practice to a contingent fee approach.

“The hardest part of my role has been to position the Firm for the future,” said Sucharow. “Having worked with Chris for nearly 20 years, I know he has the foresight, intelligence, and integrity to guide the Firm regardless of what comes next.”

“I am incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from Larry,” said Keller. “He has helped to build and sustain one of the nation’s preeminent litigation firms. With this foundation and our deep bench of dedicated attorneys, I am excited for what our Firm can achieve on behalf of our clients.”
