Law360 Names Ned Weinberger "Rising Star" in Class Action Law

Law360 has named Partner Ned Weinberger as one of the top class action lawyers in the country 40 years old and under in its 2019 Rising Star list, which honors the attorneys whose legal accomplishments transcend their age.

As Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Governance and Shareholder Rights Litigation Practice, Ned recently led the prosecution of a breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit challenging a series of decisions made by the board of directors of AGNC Investment Corp., a mortgage REIT, which resulted in a $35.5 million settlement. He also successfully argued an appeal before the Delaware Supreme Court in a class and derivative lawsuit challenging the fairness of Earthstone Energy’s acquisition of Bold Energy. In that case, the Delaware Supreme Court overturned a Delaware Court of Chancery’s dismissal of the suit, a decision that will have significant implications for the application of law created by the M&F Worldwide case.

Ned is currently serving as co-lead counsel in several high-profile matters before the Court of Chancery including In re Dell Technologies Inc. Class V Stockholders Litigation, In re Coty Inc. Stockholder Litigation, and In re Straight Path Communications Inc. Consolidated Stockholder Litigation.
