Labaton Sucharow has been named a finalist in the Securities Litigation, Antitrust, and Immigration (Pro Bono) categories for the National Law Journal’s annual Elite Trial Lawyers awards. The National Law Journal reviewed more than 300 submissions to select the finalists that “demonstrated repeated success in cutting-edge work on behalf of plaintiffs over the last 18 months.”
Our Securities Litigation Practice was selected as a finalist for the fifth consecutive year. During the research period, Labaton Sucharow settled class actions against Intuitive Surgical, Facebook, Advanced Micro Devices, Virtus Investment Partners, and Liquidity Services, among others, and helped secure the largest award ever granted under the SEC Whistleblower Program for our clients which tipped the SEC off to long-running misconduct at Merrill Lynch.
Our Antitrust Practice was named a finalist for the second consecutive year. Our group served as class counsel in the ISDAfix and Lidoderm class actions, which settled for $504.5 million and $104.75 million, respectively.
This was the first year the Firm has been recognized in the Immigration category. Through our partnership with the Immigration Justice Campaign, our lawyers provided much needed legal assistance to immigrants seeking asylum from persecution. In 2018, our pro bono teams secured two asylum grants and helped reunite a father with his daughter after a border separation.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at Lotte New York Palace in New York City on July 19.
