Alec T. Coquin focuses on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors. He is actively involved in prosecuting a case against Prothena.
Recently, Alec supported the Firm team that helped recover a $140 million settlement against Barrick Gold Corporation, one of the world's largest gold mining companies, in In re Barrick Gold Securities Litigation. He assisted in the $9 million recovery secured for investors against Vocera Communications, a leading provider of mobile communication solutions, in In re Vocera Communications, Inc. Securities Litigation. He was also part of the team that represented lead plaintiff Carpenters' Local 27 Benefit Trust Funds in In re ViroPharma Incorporated Securities Litigation, which resulted in an $8 million settlement against ViroPharma, and In re Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Securities Litigation, which resulted in a $7 million recovery.
Previously, Alec worked as a summer associate at the Firm. Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, he worked for the Honorable James M. Catterson, Appellate Division, 1st Department as an intern.
Alec received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.A. from Wesleyan University. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
