Law360 profiled Corporate Governance and Shareholder Rights Litigation Chair Ned Weinberger who was named a 2019 Rising Star in Class Actions. Weinberger negotiated a $35.5 million deal for investors in a suit against AGNC Investment Corp.'s directors, making it the biggest case of his young career. "It took a whole lot of work and a whole lot of creativity," Weinberger said.
In another significant victory, Weinberger successfully argued an appeal before the Delaware Supreme Court which overturned a Court of Chancery decision dismissing a lawsuit challenging the fairness of Earthstone Energy's $335 million acquisition of Bold Energy. "It's a case where there are very significant implications well beyond the case itself," Weinberger said. "It's prevented MFW from becoming a simple playbook for evading court scrutiny."
