The National Law Journal spoke with Labaton Sucharow partner Christine Fox about the Firm's efforts in providing pro bono legal assistance to immigrants seeking asylum. Fox led the pro bono team that successfully reunited a Honduran asylum seeker with his 12-year-old daughter after she was forcibly separated from him at the U.S. border. Since 2018, the Firm has also secured four asylum grants on behalf of two Ugandans who endured years of persecution due to their sexual orientation, a Pakistani national who faced religious persecution, and a Cuban political refugee. Due to the Firm's efforts, the Firm was honored by The National Law Journal as its 2019 Elite Trial Lawyers Award winner in the Immigration category.
