Negotiation Ethics: Pitfalls and Rules

Of Counsel Carol C. Villegas will moderate the panel, "Negotiation Ethics: Pitfalls and Rules" during the Annual Meeting hosted by the New York State Bar Association Committee for Women in the Law.

This segment will feature a Professor of Legal Ethics and prominent attorneys from private and in-house practice, who will use hypothetical scenarios, including mock negotiations, to discuss common ethical pitfalls that lawyers face, the applicable New York Rules of Professional Conduct, and relevant ethics opinions and case law. The panelists will also explore the ethical dilemmas that can arise when a mentor provides potentially improper guidance to a mentee on negotiation issues.
