One in Four Finance Professionals Would Do This to Get an Edge (Hint: It's Not a Good Thing)

Labaton Suchrow's survey on US UK financial services industry uncovers startling statistics

The financial system isn't exactly renowned for its sparkling ethical record, and a new study released by Labaton Sucharow yesterday certainly isn't going to help the cause. The study surveyed 500 U.S. and U.K. fund managers, bankers, analysts and asset managers and found that nearly a quarter of respondents felt that "financial services professionals may need to engage in unethical or illegal activity to get ahead." What's more, a full 12% believed it was likely that such unethical or illegal activity had already occurred within their own offices.
