GCR and WWL present awards annually to individuals and firms that have performed exceptionally well in the publications’ research. Honorees were nominated by clients and peers and vetted through a series of questionnaires and interviews. Preliminary lists of the recommended attorneys were circulated for comment among selected groups of private practitioners and corporate counsel in the field, and telephone and face-to-face interviews were conducted to narrow the listing to a selection of attorneys who, by general agreement, are considered to be pre-eminent in the field. Nominees must have received at least four independent nominations from their clients and peers.
