Firm Chairman Lawrence A. Sucharow Celebrates 40th Anniversary at Labaton Sucharow
NEW YORK (November 1, 2017) – Labaton Sucharow LLP is pleased to announce that the Firm recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Chairman Lawrence A. Sucharow, whose leadership has bolstered the Firm’s reputation as one of the leading law firms in the plaintiffs bar.
“Larry” Sucharow has been involved in the prosecution of hundreds of cases, and the Firm has recovered billions in groundbreaking securities, antitrust, business transaction, product liability, and other class and direct actions over the course of his tenure. As Chairman, Larry also focuses on counseling the Firm’s large institutional clients, developing creative and compelling strategies to advance and protect clients’ interests, and the prosecution and resolution of many of the Firm's leading cases.
With a life marked by a litany of accolades, Larry most recently was named a Leading Litigator by Benchmark Litigation for the fifth time, in which peers remarked that he “is still in the mix and getting settlements that have bite.”
Larry was also recognized by Chambers and Partners USA as a Plaintiffs Securities Senior Statesman for the fifth consecutive year and recommended in the field of Securities Litigation by The Legal 500 for the 10th year. Well respected among his colleagues, contemporaries, and adversaries, Law360 fittingly branded him one of the 10 Most Admired Securities Attorneys in the United States as well as a Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar.
In addition to his accolades, Larry’s fierce advocacy for promoting thought leadership and bettering the bar has earned him esteemed positions, including President of the National Association of Shareholder and Consumer Attorneys; trustee of the Federal Bar Council Foundation; member of the Federal Bar Council's Committee on Second Circuit Courts and the Federal Courts Committee of the New York County Lawyers’ Association; member of the Securities Law Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association; Founding Chairman of the Class Action Committee of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association; member of the Advocacy Committee of the World Federation of Investors Corporation; and Vice Chair of the International Financial Litigation Network.
Along with his industry awards and track record of successes, Larry has also made a personal impact on many young attorneys as a mentor. “I’ve had the privilege of working with Larry for nearly 20 years and credit my success as a litigator to his guidance. Our Firm’s position as one of the top plaintiffs firms would not be possible without his strategic leadership,” said partner Christopher J. Keller, head of case development and member of the executive committee.
