Overview

With more than 40 years of experience, Thomas P. Preston focuses on analyzing and resolving commercial disputes through mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Tom has worked extensively in a wide range of practice areas, including corporate governance, shareholder rights, securities, antitrust, fiduciary duties, bankruptcy, and other financial and regulatory matters, as well as in higher education legal matters. 

Tom has held several prominent positions, the most recent of which he was General Counsel for Delaware State University. He also practiced law at AmLaw 100 firms, including acting as Managing Partner of the Delaware office of Blank Rome LLP; Managing Partner of the Delaware office of Reed Smith; and partner at Duane Morris LLP.

Tom has served on numerous not-for-profit boards, including Chair of the St. Francis Hospital; and Board Member and President of the Tatnall School, an independent school in Wilmington, Delaware; the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware; and the Philadelphia Center for Older People. He also served as co-counsel to U.S. Lacrosse and was a Member of Board of Directors and Executive, Audit, Personnel and Compensation, and Governance Committees of Wilmington Savings Fund Society (WSFS) Bank, the oldest bank in Delaware.

Tom received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and received his B.A. from Yale University.
