Overview

With 25 years’ experience in law firm management, as Chief Operating Officer, Ray Politano has primary responsibility for the operational management of the Firm. In this capacity, he oversees the finance and administrative functions—including marketing, HR, facilities and technology—and works alongside Labaton Sucharow’s senior partners in connection with all strategic planning efforts. He also serves on the Firm’s Executive Committee.

A recognized leader in the field, Ray focuses his efforts on organization, profitability and efficiency. While he concentrates on delivering the highest degree of service to the Firm’s clients, he also works to create opportunities for the Firm’s professionals to hone their skills and maximize their potential. He is a team-builder, with a strong track record of successfully developing departmental directors, managers and staff through mentoring and motivating.

Ray has cultivated his professional services expertise at some of the finest firms in the country. He served as a Chief Operating Officer at Baker & McKenzie, where he was responsible for the financial, operational and administrative aspects of the New York office. Ray also reorganized and restructured the office’s administrative operations, successfully eliminating operational redundancies and streamlining the delivery of services. He previously worked in senior financial positions at Chadbourne & Parke and Morrison, Cohen, Singer & Weinstein. He began his career as an Accounting Manager at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in 1988.

Ray received his B.B.A. at Bernard Baruch College. He is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators.
