Overview

Matthew Hrutkay focuses on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors.

Matthew currently represents investors in securities fraud class actions against Cigna, Daimler AG, Morgan Stanley, PTC Therapeutics, Qualcomm, Sprouts Markets, and StoneMor Partners L.P. He also played a significant role in securing a favorable $41 million settlement against executives of NII Holdings, a multinational communications company.

Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, Matthew was an associate at a national litigation firm, where he focused on complex commercial litigation in sports financing and brought securities claims on behalf of the Federal Housing Finance Agency relating to FHFA’s RMBS investment portfolio.

Matthew attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law

Prior to attending law school, Matthew served as an active duty infantry sergeant in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division from 2003 through 2006.
