Matthew J. Hrutkay



Matthew Hrutkay focuses on prosecuting securities fraud litigation on behalf of institutional investors. Currently, he is actively working on Avila v. LifeLock, Inc., 3226701 Canada Inc. v. Qualcomm, Inc., and a securities class action against IBM.

Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, Matthew was an associate with Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP, where he focused on complex commercial litigation in the areas of sports financing and RMBS claims brought on behalf of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.  

Matthew attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law.  

Prior to attending law school, Matthew served as an active duty infantry sergeant in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division from 2003 through 2006.
