Mark S. GoldmanOf Counsel OverviewMark S. Goldman has 24 years of experience in commercial litigation, primarily litigating class actions involving securities fraud, consumer fraud and violations of federal and state antitrust laws.Mark is currently prosecuting securities fraud claims on behalf of institutional and individual investors against hedge funds that misrepresented the net asset value of investors' shares, against a company in the video rental market that allegedly provided investors with overly optimistic guidance, and against the parent of a leading shoe retailer which was acquired by its subsidiary without fully disclosing the terms of the transaction or reasons that the transaction was in the minority investors' best interest. In addition, Mark is participating in litigation brought against international air cargo carriers charged with conspiring to fix fuel and security surcharges, and domestic manufacturers of air filters, OSB, flat glass and chocolate, also charged with price-fixing. Mark successfully litigated a number of consumer fraud cases brought against insurance companies challenging the manner in which they calculated life insurance premiums. He also prosecuted a number of insider trading cases brought against company insiders who, in violation of Section 16(b) of the Securities Exchange Act, engaged in short swing trading. In addition, Mark participated in the prosecution of In re AOL Time Warner Securities Litigation, a massive securities fraud case that settled for $2.5 billion. He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Mark has been awarded an AV Preeminent rating, the highest distinction, from the publishers of the Martindale-Hubbell directory. |
