Labaton Sucharow LLP filed the first class action lawsuit in the country on behalf of a proposed class of Plaintiffs who transacted in Commodities Exchange, Inc. ("COMEX") silver futures or options contracts. The Court appointed Labaton Sucharow to the Executive Committee on March 2, 2011.
Plaintiffs allege that, between June 1, 2008 and the present, Defendant intentionally and unlawfully suppressed and manipulated the price of COMEX silver futures and options contracts. The case is currently pending before the Honorable Robert P. Patterson, Jr. in the Southern District of New York.
Labaton Sucharow conducted an extensive internal investigation of the COMEX silver futures and options contracts market before ultimately filing a complaint in October, 2010. Plaintiffs filed a consolidated amended complaint on September 12, 2011.
