Firm Chairman Lawrence A. Sucharow Appointed to the Advocacy Committee of the World Federation of Investors

NEW YORK (October 10, 2012) — Labaton Sucharow LLP today announced that Chairman Lawrence A. Sucharow has been appointed to the Advocacy Committee of the World Federation of Investors (WFI). WFI is an independent, nonprofit organization whose members are primarily national shareholders' associations. WFI was formed almost 30 years ago to promote investor education and help national shareholders association better serve their members.

Lawrence Sucharow is one of nine advocacy committee members and the only member located in the United States. Labaton Sucharow's expansive international experience allows it to continue to be an international resource for investor education. The firm has long recognized that potentially damaging fraud and misconduct disregards geographic boundaries, as such, international monitoring and analysis are crucial to investment risk management. As a result, Labaton Sucharow has an established International Litigation Group dedicated exclusively to analyzing potential claims in non-U.S. jurisdictions and offering advice to its institutional investor clients on the merits of proceeding with litigation, or taking other action, in foreign forums.
