Lawrence A. Sucharow, Gregory Asciolla, and Jay L. Himes Recognized in Global Competition Review /Who’s Who Legal Awards 2017

NEW YORK (June 12, 2017) – Labaton Sucharow LLP is proud to announce the recognition of Firm Chairman Lawrence A. Sucharow, as well as Antitrust and Competition Litigation Practice Co-Chairs, Gregory Asciolla and Jay L. Himes in Global Competition Review (GCR) and Who’s Who Legal (WWL) for antitrust/competition litigation.

Lawrence A. Sucharow focuses on counseling the Firm's large institutional clients, developing creative and compelling strategies to advance and protect clients' interests, and the prosecution and resolution of many of the Firm's leading cases. In recognition of his career accomplishments and standing in the securities bar, Sucharow was selected by Law360 as one the 10 Most Admired Securities Attorneys in the United States and as a Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar. Further, he is one of a small handful of plaintiffs' securities lawyers in the United States recognized by Chambers & Partners USA, The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and Lawdragon for his successes in securities litigation.

Gregory Asciolla represents clients in global antitrust matters involving alleged price-fixing, benchmark and commodities manipulation, pay-for-delay, and other anticompetitive practices. In addition to his recognition from GCR/WWL, he has been named a Next Generation Lawyer by The Legal 500, a Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar by Law360, and ranked in New York by Chambers & Partners USA.

Jay L. Himes is experienced in all facets of antitrust and complex litigation generally. With more than 40 years of experience, Himes focuses on representing plaintiffs in price-fixing class action cases and protects businesses from anticompetitive activities. He serves as the court-appointed trustee in the Department of Justice's merger victory after trial—United States of America v. Bazaarvoice, Inc.—with the responsibility to monitor Bazaarvoice's compliance with its obligations under the final judgment. He has also been recommended by Chambers & Partners USA and The Legal 500 for several consecutive years.

Each year, GCR and WWL present awards to the individuals and firms that have performed exceptionally well in the publications’ research. Honorees were nominated by clients and peers and vetted through a series of questionnaires and interviews. Preliminary lists of the recommended attorneys were circulated for comment among selected groups of private practitioners and corporate counsel in the field, and telephone and face-to-face interviews were conducted to narrow the listing to a selection of attorneys who, by general agreement, are considered to be pre-eminent in the field. Nominees must have received at least four independent nominations from their clients and peers.
