Lawdragon Names Firm Co-Chairmen Among Leading Lawyers in America

New York, NY (March 28, 2018) – Lawdragon magazine has recognized Labaton Sucharow’s Co-Chairmen, Lawrence A. Sucharow and Christopher J. Keller, as elite lawyers in the legal profession. Now in its 14th year, Lawdragon 500 highlights the top 500 lawyers making the biggest mark in law.

Over the course of his career, Sucharow has prosecuted hundreds of cases and his firm has recovered billions in groundbreaking securities, antitrust, business transaction, and product liability class actions. A landmark case tried in 2002—In re Real Estate Associates Limited Partnership Litigation—was the very first securities action successfully tried to a jury verdict following the enactment of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act.

In recognition of Sucharow’s career accomplishments and standing in the securities bar, Law360 selected him as one the 10 Most Admired Securities Attorneys in the United States and as a Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar. Further, he has been recognized by The Legal 500Benchmark Litigation, and Chambers and Partners USA, noting he is a "renowned figure in the securities plaintiff world...[who] has handled some of the most high-profile litigation in this field."

Keller, who was named Co-Chairman in January 2018, was recently described by The Legal 500 as a “sharp and tenacious advocate” who “has his pulse on the trends.” He has led the Firm’s Securities Case Development Group since 2003, which is responsible for evaluating claims on behalf of the Firm’s institutional investor clients.

Keller’s leadership has been instrumental in the Firm's appointments as lead counsel in some of the largest securities matters arising out of the financial crisis, such as actions against Countrywide ($624 million recovery) and Bear Stearns ($295 million recovery). His experience and reputation in the legal community led to his 2017 appointment to the Board of Directors for the New York City Bar Fund, the nonprofit arm of the New York City Bar Association aimed at engaging and supporting the legal profession in advancing social justice.
