Labaton Sucharow Partner Earns Duo of Distinctions to Begin the New Year

NEW YORK (January 30, 2015) — Labaton Sucharow LLP today announced that partner Jordan A. Thomas is the recipient of two separate accolades from the corporate ethics community. In its roundup of leaders in the field of corporate responsibility, Corporate Responsibility Magazine named Thomas a 2014 Superstar.  In addition, Trust! Magazine named Jordan to its esteemed list of 2015 Top Thought Leaders in Trust. Now in its fifth year, the Trust Across America awards program celebrates professionals who transform the way organizations do business.

Following a distinguished career in federal law enforcement, Jordan joined Labaton Sucharow in July 2011. A former Assistant Director and Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), he played a leadership role in the development of the SEC Whistleblower Program. The program has broad extraterritorial reach and offers eligible whistleblowers significant employment protections, monetary awards, and the ability to report possible securities violations anonymously. In fiscal year 2014, the SEC received more than 3,600 whistleblower tips and had a balance of more than $435 million in the replenishing Investor Protection Fund from which whistleblower awards are paid.
