Labaton Sucharow Named to The National Law Journal 's America's Elite Trial Lawyers ListNEW YORK (September 9, 2014) — Labaton Sucharow LLP announced today it was named by The National Law Journal (NLJ) as one of the top 50 law firms included in the publication's first-ever America's Elite Trial Lawyers list, which specifically recognizes plaintiffs representation. According to the NLJ, selected firms "pulled in big victories in complex cases that have a wide impact on the law and legal business."
"I know a good attorney when I see it," said George Hopkins, executive director of the $14.5 billion Arkansas Teacher Retirement System and Labaton Sucharow client. "If I call at 9 o'clock [p.m.] Arkansas time and it's 10 o'clock their time, which I frequently do, they answer," he told The National Law Journal.
To qualify, firms must have 1) possessed an impressive record of successes within the past three to five years, 2) had at least one winning bench/jury trial or major settlement in which the stakes were high between January 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014, and 3) devoted more than 50 percent of litigation to and gained more than 50 percent of revenue from plaintiffs work.
