Justice Department Benefits from SEC Whistleblower Tips

Jordan A. Thomas explains how the Justice Department has been privy to some of the quality tips collected through the SEC's whistleblower program
Individuals submitting whistleblower tips to the SEC often also send them directly to the Justice Department. The SEC can also refer a case stemming from a tip to the Justice Department and pass on the actual tip if the whistleblower consents, said Jordan Thomas, partner and chair of the whistleblower representation practice at Labaton Sucharow LLP, who also spoke on the panel.
