Eric J. Belfi Joins Labaton Sucharow & Rudoff LLP as Partner

New York, NY (May 31, 2006) – Labaton Sucharow & Rudoff LLP, one of the country’s premier national law firms representing institutional investors in class actions, and complex securities cases, announced today that Eric J. Belfi has joined the firm as Partner.

As a former prosecutor for the New York State Attorney General’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office for the County of Westchester, Eric brings to the firm a wealth of courtroom experience battling corporate fraud. He has presented hundreds of cases to grand juries and obtained numerous felony convictions following jury trials in cases involving corporate wrongdoing, giving him an incredibly strong foundation for the handling of investor rights cases pursued by Labaton Sucharow.

Eric comes to the firm from Murray, Frank & Sailer, at which he was a class action litigation partner.

“Eric is an outstanding attorney and a first-class litigator,” said Larry Sucharow, Managing Partner of Labaton Sucharow. “He is a tremendous addition to our firm. Eric’s knowledge of, and contacts in, the European markets, which are increasingly recognizing the value of our institutional investor protection services, will be invaluable. We are fortunate to have him.”

In addition to helping prosecute cases on behalf of American-based individuals and institutions, Eric will lead Labaton Sucharow’s expansion in serving the European and other markets, as foreign investors increasingly look for U.S. based professionals to help protect their investments in the U.S. capital markets and achieve corporate governance reforms.

“Labaton Sucharow is a dynamic, growing securities and antitrust class action firm with an unmatched reputation for integrity and professionalism for over forty years. The Firm provides an established and respected platform for me to grow my client base and relationships in the European and other international markets,” said Eric. “I look forward to much success with the firm and my new partners.”

Eric received his B.A. from Georgetown University and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1995. He also serves as Associate Prosecutor for the Village of New Hyde Park.
