The Corporation Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association will host a seminar in Wilmington, Delaware on May 18, 2016.

Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Governance and Shareholder Rights Litigation Practice Christine S. Azar will participate in a panel titled, “Alternative Dispute Resolution in Delaware, and Getting the Settlement to Judgement.” The panel will address recent developments in Delaware relating to the resolution of business disputes and representative litigation. Among the topics to be addressed are:

  • who, what, when, where and why of the Delaware Rapid Arbitration Act (DRAA),
  • mediation in the Court of Chancery, and
  • developments in the settlement of representative litigation, including guidance concerning disclosure-only settlements and the proper scope of releases.

The panel will also address practical and strategic concerns in considering and pursuing alternative paths to resolving business disputes, and incorporates the perspective of Vice Chancellor Slights, who has resolved business disputes as a judge, an arbitrator, and a mediator.
