On January 23, 2014, the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law hosted a panel discussion entitled "Questioning the Integrity of Financial Benchmarks: Legal Tools and Practical Problems."

Labaton Sucharow partner Gregory Asciolla joined the panel to discuss issues relating to financial benchmarking, and provide his perspective on questions such as: What are the proper tools for addressing potentially anticompetitive conduct? Where do manipulation, fraud and contract theories fit in? How should counsel advise clients when the conduct may be attacked under novel theories of harm? What issues arise from overlapping enforcement?
