The American Conference Institute (ACI) held it's 28th National Conference on the 'Foreign Corrupt Practices Act' at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington, DC on November 15th and 16th, 2012.

Labaton Sucharow Partner Christine S. Azar spoke on the panel entitled "Managing the Collateral Fallout: How to Minimize Downstream Exposure to Private Litigation Post-FCPA Investigation/Settlement", on Friday, November 16th, from 4:15 pm - 5:00 pm. Christine was joined by Samuel W. Cooper (partner at Baker Botts LLP) who spoke from the defense perspective, while Christine spoke from the plaintiff's perspective.

During this session, attendees were exposed to proactive risk management strategies for minimizing their company/client's downstream exposure to litigation or enforcement arising out of an FCPA investigation/settlement. Topics discussed during this panel included defensive litigation strategies for responding to:
